Certified and Compatible

When it comes to AV system component interoperability, what do the terms “Certified” and “Compatible” mean, and how can you be sure you’re getting products that meet your needs and work well together?

Sometimes, if a product isn’t certified, it might be that the product doesn’t meet certification criteria; but other times, it might mean that the manufacturer doesn’t certify that product category. Choosing a product based solely on “certification status,” therefore, may not be the best design strategy.

Extron hardware has undergone comprehensive testing and review from both parties to ensure a seamless experience.

The products in our Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms Certified Design Solutions have been designed and meticulously tested for best-in-class performance and ease of use.

Extron Drivers

There are thousands of Extron Certified device drivers that enable system designers to easily and quickly deploy powerful control systems that are reliable, sustainable, and profitable.

Device drivers allow Extron products to control various display and source devices, such as projectors, flat-panel displays, and Media players. Extron products that utilize these drivers include IP Link^® Pro xi control processors - such as the IPCP Pro 360 xi, System Switchers, and MediaLink^® Plus controllers. For these Extron products to control external devices, individual drivers or the latest driver package must be downloaded prior to running the configuration software. Extron has developed an easy-to-use online search tool to locate the individual driver file for your specific device or click the package link to download the entire package of drivers currently available.

Drivers designated as "Extron Certified" were written by Extron and have been reviewed and tested. For more information about specific device compatibility, please review the communication sheet available for each driver.

Drivers not designated as “Extron Certified” were written and reviewed in-house by Extron according to specifications with one of the supported devices listed for the driver.

Driver Package

The Extron driver package is a single installation file that contains all the latest Extron driver files. This file is easy to download and can be installed on your computer in the same way you would install a software application. The driver package is updated weekly.
