Overview

Extron RCP 401 Series are remote control button panels that allow remote operation of the SMP 401. User-friendly record, pause, stop, and mark buttons enhance the recording experience. Manage and save files directly to thumb drives or external portable drives through a USB port that supports writing speeds up to 5 Gbps. It also features buttons for swap and layout preset recall functions, streamlining the creative workflow. Status lights and audible alerts keep users informed of SMP 401 recording status. The RCP 401 Series includes a USB-C control cable for easy, out-of-the-box connection to the SMP 401. It comes in decorator-style, MK, and EU versions. RCP 401 Series panels include black and white faceplates for a wide range of environments. MK model is available in white only.

RCP 401 Decorator-Style Remote Control Panel for SMP 400 Series Products

Provide a Decorator-style remote control panel for the purpose of remotely controlling, monitoring and connecting USB storage when paired with an Extron SMP 400 Series Streaming Media Processor.
1. Connection Requirements
  1. USB Requirements
    1. Provide one rear accessible USB type C port mounted at a right angle to the faceplate.
    2. Provide one front accessible USB type A receptacle
  2. Support 12V power connection
    1. Provide one rear captive screw connection for 12VDC power
2. Mounting requirements
  1. Device shall have the ability to be mounted directly in a wall, lectern, or other flat surface and shall be able to be secured using the supplied mud ring and hardware.
  2. Device shall have the ability to be mounted to the surface of a wall using an optional wall box.
  3. Device shall include both white and black faceplates.
3. Cabling requirements
  1. Device shall include a 6 foot (1.8 meters) USB-C cable for direct connection to an Extron SMP 401 series product.
  2. Device may be optionally extended over fiber optic cable up to 492 feet (150 meters) using an Extron UCS 900 Series.
4. Shall include backlit rubberized button panel interface.
  1. Device shall have a total of six soft white LED backlit buttons, dedicated for record, pause, stop, chapter markings, swap and layout preset recall.
  2. Buttons shall feature two levels of illumination, dim and bright
  3. Buttons shall illuminate brightly when active, and have the ability to flash
  4. Record button shall feature red illumination during recording.
  5. Record button shall have a raised bump to allow user to located it with low visibility
5. Shall include status LED indicators
  1. Device shall have a red and green status LED indicator for alarm and button press activity
  2. Device shall have a green LED for USB storage indicating:
    1. Off – no storage is detected, or the location is not configured.
    2. Green solid – Storage is detected, and the port is configured.
    3. Green blink – Storage is being written, or accessed.
6. Shall include audible warning - buzzer.
  1. Device shall have an internal buzzer that sounds in conjunction with the status LED.
7. Shall include a means to lock out the front panel controls.
  1. When enabled, the buttons flash 3 times when any one button is pressed.
8. Device shall be Section 508 Compliant and shall meet or exceed accessibility standards for Electronic Information Technology
