Overview

Extron RCP 101 Series remote control panels feature backlit transport controls for remote operation of Extron SMP 111 and SMP 300 Series products. A USB port provides convenient access to a thumb drive or external portable storage. RCP 101 panels have status and alarm indicator lights with an audible buzzer. A 15 foot (4.6 meter) USB cable is included. The RCP 101 panels may be used with Extron USB Extender Plus Series twisted pair extenders to support distances up to 330 feet (100 meters). Available in decorator-style, MK, and EU versions; the EU version is compatible with Flex55 enclosures or EU junction boxes. RCP 101 Series panels include black and a white faceplates to compliment a wide range of environments. MK model is available in white only.

RCP 101 Decorator-Style Remote Control Panel for SMP Series Products

Provide a Decorator-style remote control panel for the purpose of remotely controlling, monitoring and connecting USB storage when paired with an Extron SMP Series Streaming Media Processor.
1. Connection Requirements
  1. USB Requirements
    1. Provide one rear accessible mini USB type B port mounted at a right angle to the faceplate.
    2. Provide one front accessible USB type A receptacle
  2. Support 12V power connection
    1. Provide one rear captive screw connection for 12VDC power
2. Mounting requirements
  1. Device shall have the ability to be mounted directly in a wall, lectern, or other flat surface and shall be able to be secured using the supplied mud ring and hardware.
  2. Device shall have the ability to be mounted to the surface of a wall using an optional wall box.
  3. Device shall include both white and black faceplates.
3. Cabling requirements
  1. Device shall include a 15 foot (4.5 meters) USB A to mini B cable for direct connection to an Extron SMP series product.
  2. Device shall include a 15 foot (4.5 meters) DC power cable for direct connection to an Extron SMP 111 Streaming media Processor, or external 12VDC power supply
  3. Device may be optionally extended up to 330 feed (100 meters) using an Extron USB Extender Plus Series extension.
4. Shall include backlit rubberized button panel interface.
  1. Device shall have a total of four soft white LED backlit buttons, dedicated for transport controls and chapter markings of a recording.
  2. Buttons shall feature two levels of illumination, dim and bright
  3. Buttons shall illuminate brightly when active, and have the ability to flash
  4. Record button shall feature red illumination during recording.
  5. Record button shall have a raised bump to allow user to located it with low visibility
5. Shall include status LED indicators
  1. Device shall have a red and green status LED indicator for alarm and button press activity
  2. Device shall have a green LED for USB storage indicating:
    1. Off – no storage is detected, or the location is not configured.
    2. Green solid – Storage is detected, and the port is configured.

6. Shall include audible warning - buzzer.
  1. Device shall have an internal buzzer that sounds in conjunction with the status LED.
