Extron VCS – Videowall Configuration Software is a universal application for configuring Extron 4K videowall processors. With this intuitive, time-saving software, Extron videowall products are configured using a common interface. System configuration is broken down into logical tasks, such as wall configuration, source setup, preset design, and EDID Minder for simplified integration. Online and offline editing allows creation and configuration of systems with or without an attached Quantum Ultra processor. Familiar editing controls streamline layering, aligning, and sizing of source windows. Live and Preview modes provide the option for immediate or controlled wall response to edits. With an intuitive workflow and familiar interface, VCS provides efficient configuration of any Extron 4K videowall processor.

VCS is a PC-based software application supporting Ethernet communication. Settings and preset changes within the software are automatically synchronized and stored on the videowall processor, allowing direct connection and control of the hardware using SIS commands. System maintenance is simplified with integrated connection status indicators and Quantum Ultra firmware update controls.

Powerful Editing Features
VCS features advanced editing controls that accelerate the configuration process. Window presets are created by dragging and dropping sources onto a virtual representation of the video wall. Preview mode supports “ad hoc” edits during live events, leaving the videowall unaffected by preset edits until a “Take” action is performed. Offline configuration allows Quantum Ultra commissioning to begin before arriving on site, or when the processor is temporarily unavailable due to limited facility access or other restrictions.

The intuitive interface, task-oriented workflow, and advanced configuration features give VCS the power and flexibility you require to get your videowall up and running fast, without sacrificing ease-of-use. Welcome screen streamlines workflow when connecting to Quantum Ultra II, Quantum Ultra, Quantum Ultra Connect, and MGP 641

Task-oriented workflow — Configuration tools are grouped by function, simplifying each step of the configuration process.

Undo/Redo edits to wall presets — Multi-level Undo and Redo simplifies preset editing by allowing changes to be quickly reverted or reapplied.

Live and Preview editing modes — Live mode delivers immediate updates to the videowall when performing preset edits. Preview mode leaves the videowall unaffected by preset edits until a “Take” action is performed.

New Create up to 50 login accounts with Admin, Designer, or User Permission Levels - Quantum Ultra and Quantum Ultra II only — An Administrator can create and modify login accounts and permission levels.

New Canvas Access Permission - Quantum Ultra and Quantum Ultra II only — Allows Login accounts to have designated access to one or more canvasses in a project file, up to a maximum of 20 canvasses. An Administrator can modify canvas access.

New Source Access Permission - Quantum Ultra and Quantum Ultra II only — Allows canvasses to have access only to designated sources, as specified by an Administrator.

New Specify active canvas area for content placement - Quantum Ultra and Quantum Ultra II only — The on‑screen representation of the videowall can be set independent of the overall output resolution. This is beneficial when the active videowall area is a subset of the total output resolution. Any unused canvas area is hidden from view.

Create custom output resolutions based on connected display EDID
