The Extron Quantum® Connect is an HDCP-compliant videowall processor that delivers the same high quality video scaling, windowing capability, and reliable, real-time performance as Extron's flagship Quantum Elite. Quantum Connect is ideal for small to medium-sized videowalls with two to 14 screens in installations with permanent AV system configurations. It supports a wide variety of input, output, and windowing capabilities in a small form factor, and features high performance video scaling technology capable of producing superior quality images. The Quantum Connect is a non-expandable card-cage design that is populated at the factory with user-selected combinations of input and output cards for 3G-SDI, HDMI, DVI, RGB, HDTV or video sources. Each HDMI or DVI-I dual output card supports up to 128 video/graphic source windows.

The Quantum Connect maintains optimal full frame rate performance with a high-speed, 10 Gbps RAPT - Real-Time Asymmetric Packetized Transfer video/graphic bus that allows large numbers of inputs to be processed simultaneously, while preserving real-time control response and image performance.

When used in conjunction with HDCP-compatible displays, the HDMI input and output cards allow the display of HDCP-encrypted content on the videowall. A green window with an alert message will be displayed if HDCP-encrypted content is sent to a non-HDCP compliant display.

A variety of display scenarios can be pre-programmed or created on-the-fly using Quantum Connect Control Software, an intuitive control interface for setup and system operation. Many sources can be shown at small sizes, a few at large sizes, or many other combinations. All of this is complemented by high performance image scaling technology, which accurately preserves the original image quality at all window sizes.

The Quantum Connect is packaged into permanent configurations when shipped from the factory. Applications requiring greater scalability and the flexibility to expand over time should use the Quantum Elite processor.

The advantages of the Quantum Connect make it ideal for lobby displays in public spaces, digital signage in retail environments, and command and control displays.

Card frame videowall processing system available with eight slots — The Quantum Connect is a 4U card frame with eight slots. It is populated with various combinations of input and output cards at the factory to match specific source and videowall configurations.

Supports 3G-SDI, HDMI, DVI, RGB analog, HD component, and standard video input signals — The Quantum Connect can be configured with user-specified combinations of input cards to accommodate a wide variety of signal formats. Input cards include a 12-input card for composite or S-video sources, a two-input card for RGB graphics or HD component video, a two-input card for DVI-D sources, an HDCP-compliant two-input card for HDMI or DVI-D sources, and a two-input 3G-SDI card that supports SDI, HD-SDI, and 3G-SDI signals.

Integrates easily into a diverse array of 4K environments such as lobbies, auditoriums, and simulation — Quantum Connect is optimized for use with 4K displays, windowing large numbers of standard definition, high definition, and UHD sources across displays with resolutions up to 3840x2160 or greater.

Two input 3G-SDI card accepts SDI, HD-SDI, and 3G-SDI signals from 270 Mbps up to 2.97 Gbps — The 3G-SDI input card accepts two inputs with data rates from standard definition 480i and 576i to HDTV 1080p/60 Hz. It complies with SMPTE 259M, 292M, and 424M digital video standards, accommodating SDI, HD-SDI, and 3G-SDI signals.

HDMI, DVI, and RGB analog output options support many display types — Quantum Connect offers two output card options to deliver either HDMI/DVI-D or DVI-I outputs, supporting many display types. Each output card drives two displays, and the card frame can be configured with any number of output cards to support your display configuration.

HDCP-compliant input/output options — HDCP-encrypted content can be displayed on HDCP-compatible displays when using Quantum Connect HDMI input and output cards.

User-selectable HDCP authorization — Allows individual inputs to appear HDCP compliant or non-HDCP compliant to the connected source, which is beneficial if the source automatically encrypts all content when connected to an HDCP-compliant device. Protected material is not passed in non-HDCP mode.

HDCP Visual Confirmation provides a green signal when encrypted content is sent to a non‑compliant display — A green window with an alert message is displayed when HDCP-encrypted content is transmitted to a non‑HDCP compliant display, providing immediate visual confirmation that protected content cannot be viewed on the display.

Key Minder^® continuously verifies HDCP compliance for quick, reliable switching — Key Minder authenticates and maintains continuous HDCP encryption between input and output devices to ensure quick and proper display of HDCP-encrypted source signals on the videowall.

High speed, dedicated video/graphic bus delivers real-time performance — The Quantum Connect features a 10 Gbps Real-Time Asymmetric Packetized Transfer - RAPT video/graphic bus that allows for simultaneous processing of numerous, high resolution input signals while maintaining real-time operational performance as well as optimal image quality at full frame rates.

Dual HDMI/DVI output card supports resolutions up to 1920x1200 and HDTV 1080p/60 Hz — The output card includes two HDMI outputs for HDMI or DVI digital connections to two displays in the videowall. Each output supports rates from 640x480 to 1920x1200 and HDTV 1080p/60 Hz.

HDCP encryption status LEDs on HDMI inputs and outputs — A status LED located next to each HDMI connector indicates the presence of HDCP encryption on the incoming and outgoing signals. This aids in the identification of valid HDCP encrypted signals, and saves time during on-site integration.

Reliable connectivity for HDMI cables — Extron LockIt^® cable lacing brackets provide secure, reliable cable connections for Quantum HDMI inputs and outputs.

Dual DVI/RGB output card supports resolutions up to 1920x1200 and HDTV 1080p/60 Hz — The output card includes two DVI-I outputs for digital or analog video connection to two displays in the videowall. Each output supports rates from SVGA to 1920x1200 and HDTV 1080p/60 Hz.

Up to 128 video/graphic windows per dual output card — The Quantum Connect offers extensive windowing capabilities, with the ability to display up to 128 windows of video and graphics for each pair of displays in the videowall.

Bezel compensation for flat-panel displays — Adjustable compensation extends the displayed image "behind" screen bezels, accurately presenting sources which span multiple displays.

Dual input card for HDMI or DVI graphics and video — The HDMI input card accepts two HDMI or DVI sources which are automatically detected at resolutions up to 1920x1200 and HDTV 1080p/60 Hz. When used with HDCP-compliant displays and the dual HDMI output card, HDCP-encrypted sources can be displayed on the videowall.
