The Extron MLS 506MA is a simple-to-use, six input, multi-format switcher that provides composite video, S-video, component video, and RGB video switching, along with stereo audio input switching. An additional input accepts balanced/unbalanced mono line level audio signals for mixing with any of the four switchable inputs. The switcher provides 30 watt, rms, amplified mono audio output for a 4 or 8 ohm load, or a 70 volt, distributed audio system, and includes two preamp outputs. For enhanced operation, ease of room control, and simplified system integration, the MLS 506MA can be controlled with a TouchLink^® Control System or MediaLink^® Controller.

The MLS 506MA switcher provides three configurable 15-pin HD inputs to support high resolution RGBHV, S-video, component video, or composite video sources with 15-pin HD local monitor loop-through. Three additional inputs are configurable to accept S-video, component video, or composite video signals, and all inputs support stereo audio. The switcher also features an auxiliary line level audio input for mixing with the switched inputs and an effects, loop in/out feature for external signal processing. It can then output the externally processed audio as an amplified signal.

In addition to the integrated amplifier, the MLS 506MA includes two preamp balanced or unbalanced audio outputs, one fixed and one variable. All outputs can be configured via RS-232 for mono or stereo audio output.

Controllable via TouchLink^® Control System, MediaLink^® Controller, front panel buttons, or RS-232 — The switchers can be controlled using the front panel backlit buttons or RS-232. An optional TouchLink Touchpanel Control System or MediaLink Controller may be connected to the RS-232 port to provide a simple and intuitive user interface for the MLS Switchers, and the entire room.

Audio input gain and attenuation — Gain or attenuation can be adjusted for each input to eliminate noticeable differences when switching between sources.

Fixed and variable preamp line level audio outputs — Can be set for mono or stereo via RS-232.

Integrated mono audio amplifier provides 30 watts rms into 4 or 8 ohm speakers or 70 volt, distributed audio systems — Outputs amplified mono audio on insulated screw terminals.

Volume, bass, and treble adjustments — Audio input levels may be adjusted from -78 dB through +24 dB of gain and attenuation.

Triple-Action Switching™ for RGB delay — Blanks the screen during switching of RGB signals to eliminate visible switching transitions.

9-pin contact closure for remote control — Contact closure can be used for external control of source switching.

Front panel security lockout — Allows security lockout of front panel buttons except for input selection and volume adjustment.
