The MLC 62 IR D is an easy-to-use keypad controller for use in classrooms and meeting facilities. It mounts to a decorator-style wallplate and offers six backlit soft touch buttons for a contemporary look and feel. The MLC 62 IR D provides control capabilities for common AV functions, including power, input switching, and volume control. The MLC 62 IR D provides an IR port for universal display control.

Consistent Control in Every Room

The MLC 62 IR D acts as an extended remote control panel, providing user-friendly control for a display's power, volume, and input selection. Because the MLC 62 IR D offers a central point of control for a display device's key functions, it eliminates the need for the display's IR remote control, making operations much more efficient. With the MLC 62 IR D, there are no misplaced remotes to search for, no confusing menus to navigate, and no dead batteries. No matter what brand of display is installed in each presentation venue, the MLC 62 IR D MediaLink Controller always provides a consistent control method from room to room. Presenters with little or no training can walk into any MediaLink equipped classroom and operate the AV system with minimal effort.

Customizable Backlit Buttons

The controller features six soft touch, tactile buttons, including power on, power off, volume up, volume down, and source selections. Using the intuitive setup software provided, these buttons can be configured to send out any IR command supported by the display, making it easy to customize the controller to meet the needs of most single-display AV systems. Macro mode provides additional flexibility by allowing all of the stored commands associated with one button to be executed with a single button press.

The source buttons offer a choice between a single or dual function setup by simply swapping out the bezel and buttons with an optional bezel kit. The MLC 62 IR D ships as a six-button controller. With the optional MLM 62 D 8B, it can be converted to an eight-button controller for applications that require four inputs or functions.

MLC 62 IR D buttons are available in pre-packaged kits, or may be ordered individually. Ordering individual buttons is easy. The Extron Custom Button Builder is our online tool that enables convenient and simple customization of soft-touch, backlit buttons for a variety of Extron control products.

Easy to Configure

No programming knowledge is necessary to configure MLC 62 IR D MediaLink Controllers. The MLC 62 IR D enables integrators to choose one of the two methods when configuring the controllers. When used with the supplied Windows®-based configuration software, installation files can be saved and used to duplicate additional MLC 62 models. The files can also be archived for later use.

Easy-to-use MLC 62 Series Configuration Program - Provides fast and simple setup via RS-232 or USB when combined with one of many ready-to-use IR device drivers available on the Extron Web site. The configuration program and MLC 62 IR D also support IR Learning for creating new IR drivers from the handheld remote of a source or display device.

Features

Six customizable backlit buttons — Standard buttons available for power on, power off, volume up, volume down, and source selection. A variety of pre-labeled buttons are included, allowing the controllers to be easily customized to suit the application. Backlit buttons provide ease of use in low-light environments.

IR port for universal display control — The MLC 62 IR D has a dedicated port for communicating with virtually any projector or flat panel display via IR. Display control drivers can be downloaded from the Extron Web site and used to configure the controller.

IR learning capability — The MLC 60 Series Configuration Program is able to capture IR codes from a device’s handheld remote control.

Volume adjustment buttons with LED level indication — Individual up and down buttons for audio level control with five LEDs that indicate current audio settings.

Pre-printed buttons included for controller customization — Buttons printed with various labels are supplied and can be changed individually to match the control application.

Macro capability — Any button can be configured to execute multiple actions through the IR control port. For instance, the touch of a single button could trigger commands to turn on the display or select the display's RGB input.

Toggle mode — Provides additional flexibility by allowing two different sets of commands to be executed with alternating presses of a button.

Source buttons offer a choice between a single or dual function setup by simply using an optional Eight Button Bezel Kit — In applications where additional sources or functions are necessary, a dual function bezel and button can replace the single function bezel and button.

Built-in speaker — Provides audible feedback when buttons are pressed to confirm user action.

Front panel security lockout — If the MLC 62 IR D is installed in an unsecured environment where easy access is not desirable, a security lockout feature may be implemented to lock out all front panel controls.

Activity LED to indicate various controller states — Bi-color, green and red LED indicates button presses, the transfer of data, front panel lockout, and other actions.

Easily accessible, front mount configuration — IR Transceiver, switches, reset button, and mini USB configuration port are strategically located behind the easily removable wallplate.

Pluggable captive screw connectors — Provide quick and easy connection to the controller for easy installation and troubleshooting.
