The Extron DVCM 50 is a four-space, dual-function IR Learning Control Module AAP - Architectural Adapter Plate designed to be used as a stand-alone device without the need for a controller. It is an ideal complement to the MLC 52 MediaLink Controller, and ships with two IR emitters.
The DVCM 50 features 15 buttons for controlling a DVD player and VCR. Each button can store up to four separate commands, providing additional flexibility to meet the specific control requirements for most display devices. When a button is configured for Macro mode, all of the stored commands associated with that button are sent with a single button press. In Toggle mode, the button steps through a series of two, three, or four commands, issuing a single command with each press of the button.
Installers will appreciate the three fast and easy configuration methods to set up the DVCM 50. They are:
- IR learning – Allows the DVCM 50 to be set up directly from the IR remote without the need for software.
- IR beaming – Quickly and easily duplicates complete configuration from one DVCM 50 to another without cables or software.
- Extron's easy-to-use configuration software - Combined with one of many IR drivers available on the Extron Web site provides fast and simple setup.
When used with the supplied Windows®-based configuration software, configuration files can be saved and used to duplicate additional DVCM 50 models. The files can be archived for later use. Advanced configuration, driver downloads, and firmware updates can be performed via the front panel configuration port without removing the control module. The optional Extron CFG Cable, part # 70-335-01, connects the DVCM 50 to a PC's RS-232 port.
The power supply, part # 70-775-01, for the DVCM 50 is sold separately. The power supply is not needed if used with an MLC - MediaLink Controller or MLS - MediaLink Switcher.
