The Extron DTP3 T 212 D is a two-input decorator-style transmitter for sending USB‑C^® video, HDMI, audio, and control up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a shielded CAT 6A cable. It supports video resolutions up to 4K/60 @ 4:4:4 and complies with HDCP 2.3. For maximum image quality and minimal latency, the DTP3 T 212 D transmits all supported resolutions uncompressed. It offers many integration-friendly features such as EDID Minder^®, auto-switching between inputs, analog stereo audio embedding, and bidirectional RS‑232 extension for remote AV device control. Also, remote power over the same twisted pair cable streamlines installation. Available in black or white, the DTP3 T 212 D provides discreet placement of HDMI and USB‑C input connections at lecterns, beneath tables, or wherever needed in demanding professional environments.

The DTP3 T 212 D enables the reliable, long distance transmission of HDMI 2.0b signals at data rates up to 18 Gbps. This twisted pair wallplate transmitter supports HDR, Deep Color up to 12-bit, 3D, and embedded HD lossless audio formats. In addition, the DTP3 output can be configured to send video and embedded audio, plus bidirectional RS-232 signals to an HDBaseT-enabled display. DDC communication of EDID and HDCP is continuously maintained between source and display for direct compatibility and optimal signal transmission between devices. The two-gang wallplate form factor enables discreet placement of HDMI and USB-C input connections in walls, tables, credenzas, lecterns, and floor boxes.

Features that Streamline Integration

To enhance and simplify integration of devices and contribute to optimal system performance, the DTP3 T 212 D includes Extron EDID Minder, which automatically manages EDID by maintaining continuous EDID communication with each source. The technology ensures that the sources power up properly and reliably send content for display.

Front panel LED indicators provide immediate visual confirmation of signal presence for each input, HDCP status, and power, as well as link status for the output. A separate LED indicates if the DTP3 T 212 D is configured to automatically switch the active input.

The DTP3 output can be configured for compatibility with HDBaseT‑enabled displays to send HDMI source signals up to 330 feet (100 meters) over the same CAT 6A twisted pair cable. The transmitter is also compatible with a broad range of multi-channel audio signals, providing reliable operation with independent audio sources.

Convenient Control and Power

The DTP3 T 212 D provides many other integrator-friendly features designed to help streamline installation. It supports simultaneous transmission of bidirectional RS‑232 from a control system. The control signals can be transmitted alongside the video signal, facilitating remote operation of AV devices without the need for additional cabling.

This DTP3 wallplate transmitter can be remotely powered over the shielded CAT 6A cable by a DTP3-enabled product. In addition, it can be configured to provide power to the connected receiver, allowing both devices to share one power supply.

For added convenience, a USB-C configuration port on the front panel offers ready access to information and direct updating of firmware. Configuration of the DTP3 T 212 D is easy with Extron’s PCS - Product Configuration Software. Its user-friendly GUI is very intuitive and easy to navigate. This software application allows for expedited setup and commissioning, along with real-time operation and monitoring. The DTP3 T 212 D mounts in an included two-gang decorator-style wallplate that fits a standard US two‑gang size junction box.

To ensure optimal performance with DTP3 systems, Extron recommends XTP DTP 22 cables and accessories. These 22-gauge shielded twisted pair cables and the shielded RJ‑45 plugs, jacks, and couplers have been engineered for optimum performance for DTP3 products running at 18 Gbps. Extron XTP DTP 22 cable bandwidth is verified to 500 MHz and utilizes an S/FTP design with four shielded 22 AWG twisted pair conductors inside an overall braided shield. This engineering ensures superior performance and noise immunity.

Comprehensive EDID management — Use PCS software to access EDID Minder for setting video input EDID, capturing EDID from connected displays, or uploading custom EDID files. Proper EDID management ensures that sources and displays are easily integrated into a system resulting in optimized system operation. Freely downloadable EDID Manager 2.1 software is available for advanced EDID editing and creating custom EDID files.

NOTE

Protocol is mirrored between the connected DTP3 Rx endpoints and the "Over TP." Signals from a control device pass into each "Over TP" port, are embedded with the DTP signal, and send to the individual DTP3 endpoints for control of remote sink or source devices.
