The CA 163 is a column array speaker designed to combine excellent speech intelligibility, a contemporary aesthetic, and integration-friendly mounting options. Engineered specifically for reverberant spaces, the CA 163 features sixteen 3" (76.2 mm) drivers with the ability to handle up to 480 watts of continuous program. Its focused vertical dispersion efficiently directs sound to listeners instead of reflective ceilings and floors. Two mounting systems are available to accommodate different room layouts and sizes. The CA 163 PT includes a pan and tilt wall mount with up to 15° of tilt and up to 130° of pan, while the CA 163 LP includes a low-profile wall mount with up to 5° of tilt. Available in black or white, the CA 163 is a precise solution for acoustically challenging environments.
Integration-Friendly Mounting Systems
The SMK CA Series wall mounting systems are designed for one person to securely mount the CA 163 Long Throw Column Array Speaker to an appropriately constructed wall. A wall-mounting template is included that makes it quick and easy to accurately position the speaker mounts. Once mounted, the T-slot on the rear of the speaker facilitates height adjustment by sliding the speaker vertically on the wall mount.
Two models are available to accommodate different seating arrangements, and the CA 163 is available with your choice of these mounting systems. The CA 163 PT includes the pan and tilt SMK PT CA that provides up to 130° pan and 15° tilt for rooms with level floor seating. The CA 163 LP includes the two-piece, low-profile SMK LP CA, designed for rooms with raked seating and provides up to 5° tilt. The SMK CA Series is paintable and available in black or white.

Low and High Impedance Mixed Systems
In spaces where side or rear fill speakers are necessary, high impedance CA 163 column array speakers can provide even coverage and consistent tonality. With a pair of CA 163 speakers on the front wall of a room, connected to a primary 8 ohm amplifier, additional CA 163 speakers can be placed on the side or rear walls, connected to a 70/100 volt system, operating at a lower SPL. Since the high impedance version of the CA 163 is transformerless, high pass filtering is unnecessary, providing the true sonic consistency of using the same speaker model at all room positions.
