Anaheim, California (June 3, 2010) - Extron Electronics is the first US manufacturer to receive EEC - Energy Efficiency Certification from UL Environment, Inc. As an acknowledged global leader in environmental qualification and certification, UL Environment acts as an independent third party to test and certify products for compliance to a broad range of domestic and international energy efficiency requirements. Several Extron engineered products now carry the EEC mark, signifying compliance with multiple government energy efficiency standards, including strict adherence to U.S. EPA ENERGY STAR® Version 2.0 requirements.
"We are proud to be the first US company to earn UL Environment's Energy Efficiency Certification for our industry-leading, ENERGY STAR qualified power supply and amplifier products,” says Andrew Edwards, President of Extron Electronics. "Extron is committed to providing our customers with products that meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and efficiency."
EEC compliance validates product energy efficiency claims in accordance with multiple environmental and industry standards. UL Environment, a wholly owned subsidiary of the globally respected Underwriters Laboratories®, Inc., tests and certifies a product based on standards established by ENERGY STAR specifications, Natural Resources Canada, and the California Energy Commission, among others. UL Environment performed extensive testing before qualifying our Extron designed and engineered PS Series Desktop Power Supplies under the ENERGY STAR Single Voltage External AC-AC and AC-DC Power Supplies Specification Version 2.0 and our professional XTRA Series Power Amplifiers under ENERGY STAR Audio/Video Specification 2.0 program requirements.
