Extron® Introduces Two Serial Digital Interface (SDI) to Analog Video Converters

Anaheim, California (April 23, 2001) - Extron introduces two new digital to analog converters for system integration and presentations. The SDI-AVR 100 is a Serial Digital Interface (SDI) to analog video signal converter, and the HDSDI-ACR 100 is a High Definition Serial Digital Interface (HDSDI) to analog video signal converter. Both versions use 10-bit sampling for high quality conversion. These versatile signal converters integrate SDI or HDSDI sources into an analog video environment. The SDI-AVR 100 and HDSDI-ACR 100 are ideal for AV systems that use a mix of analog and SDI or HDSDI sources. The SDI-AVR 100 accepts 4:2:2 SDI in ITU-R BT 601 format. It auto-detects input format and de-serializes the 270 Mbps digital stream. One re-clocked SDI loop-through is provided. The SDI-AVR 100 outputs composite video and S-video (Y/C) simultaneously, with the third output available as component video (Y, R-Y, B-Y) or RGB (RGsB, RGBS, or RGBHV). There is a choice of output formats: NTSC, PAL, or Beta. NTSC and PAL color bar test patterns are provided for setup and troubleshooting. HDSDI-ACR 100
The HDSDI-ACR 100 accepts HDSDI at 720p, 1080i, and 1080p rates up to 1.5 Gbps. One re-clocked HDSDI loop-through is provided. The HDSDI-ACR 100 outputs component video (Y, R-Y, B-Y) or RGB (RGsB, RGBS, or RGBHV). Bi-level or tri-level sync is available with component video output. The SDI-AVR 100 and HDSDI-ACR 100 provide input equalization. Both signal converters are housed in ½ rack width, 1U high metal enclosures and include 100-240VAC, 50/60 Hz, auto-switchable, internal power supplies. The SDI-AVR 100's part number is 60-400-01.
