Extron Introduces New Twisted Pair Combo for Transmitting Audio and Video

Anaheim, California (2 February 2004) - Extron Electronics is pleased to introduce two new products that work together to create an economical, high performance system for sending high resolution video and stereo audio signals up to 300 meters over a single CAT 5/6 UTP (unshielded twisted pair) cable. The TP T 15HD 45 and TP T A 45 Twisted Pair Transmitters are designed to be mounted side-by-side into a standard 45 mm x 45 mm mounting frame for installation in a wall box, cable channel, or floor box.

The Extron TP T A 45 is a high performance twisted pair transmitter that converts an unbalanced stereo audio signal into digital audio. This enables complete signal isolation resulting in reduced noise and improved signal quality. The Extron TP T 15HD 45 and TP T A 45 are compatible with the Extron TP R 15HD A, TP R BNC A, and TP R BNC AV Twisted Pair Receivers, as well as the Extron TPX 88 A Twisted Pair Matrix Switcher. "This is a powerful combination for transmitting high resolution video and high quality stereo audio over twisted pair cable," according to Lee Dodson, vice president of marketing for Extron. The TP T A 45 lists for €165,00, and the TP T 15HD 45 lists for €200,00. Both products will be available in March 2004.
