The Extron SpeedMount® Speaker Series is a family of speakers that are designed for a wide range of environments, such as
small and large classrooms, conference rooms, lecture halls, auditoriums, and retail spaces. A variety of surface mount
and ceiling mount speakers are available to suit placement requirements. They deliver accurate reproduction of music
and voice in low and high power delivery applications.
SpeedMount speakers are uniquely designed to accommodate division-of-labor installations. During rough-in, a low-voltage
contractor can pull speaker cables and install the mounting system or ceiling speaker enclosure. Later, an AV system
contractor completes the installation by securing the speaker onto the mount. The ability for these components to be
installed separately by low voltage and AV system contractors saves time and installation costs. Each SpeedMount speaker
provides additional integrator-friendly features that further simplify installation.
SpeedMount speakers easily integrate with Extron XTRA™ Series Power Amplifiers, MPA Mini Power Amplifiers, digital signal
processors, switchers, control systems, wallplates, and cables to form a complete AV system from Extron.
The Extron SpeedMount Speakers lineup includes the following:
Surface mount speakers with exclusive SpeedMount mounting system
Ceiling speakers with or without low-profile, plenum rated ceiling tile enclosures
All SpeedMount speakers are sold in pairs and have a five year parts and labor warranty.

that can operate in 8 ohm direct plus 70 volt and 100 volt modes. The SM 26T and SM 28T feature
a six-position power tap selector, with selection up to 64 watts on the SM 28T. The power tap selector can
be conveniently accessed through the grille from outside the speaker, speeding up installation especially when
setting a large number of SM 26T or SM 28T speakers for 70 volt or 100 volt operation. The SM 26,
SM 26T, SM 28, and SM 28T include an internal overload protection circuit for preventing woofer and tweeter
damage due to overdriving. These speakers are available with a black or white finish.
Exclusive, Concealed Wall Mounting System
SpeedMount surface mount speakers feature a patented, concealed wall mounting system that is designed to accommodate division-of-labor
installation and save costs. During rough-in, a low-voltage contractor can install the innovative mounting system on
the wall and terminate the speaker cable to the mount's integrated wiring contacts. Later, the AV system contractor completes
the installation by sliding the speaker onto the mount. In one sliding motion, the SpeedMount speaker is positioned
into place and automatically mated with the mount's wiring contacts. A hidden mechanism allows the speaker to be
locked into place with a unique key to deter theft.
To meet a variety of installation needs, the flexible mounting system includes 0° and 10° mounting plates for the SM 3,
or a 0° mounting plate and 10° mounting adapter for the SM 26 and SM 28. The speakers can be installed flush
with the wall when using the 0° mounting plate. In addition, the SM 3 protrudes less than 4" (10.2 cm) from
the wall when using the 0° mounting plate, to comply with ADA - Americans with Disabilities Act standards for protruding
object limits. The 10° mounting plate or adapter enable the SpeedMount speaker to be positioned with a 10° tilt downward.
The versatile mounting adapter also allows the SM 26 and SM 28 to be tilted 10° upward, left, or right.
An optional yoke mount is available for SM 26 and SM 28 speakers, and is used in conjunction with the 0° mounting plate.
It enables vertical or horizontal speaker mounting on a wall, or on a ceiling with 180° of pivot available in 10° detented steps. The pivot detents allow a consistent angle to be set for multiple speakers.
Extron SpeedMount Ceiling Speaker Systems
The CS 123T and CS 1226T Plus are patented low profile, plenum rated two-piece speaker systems for suspended ceilings in division-of-labor
installations. They are designed for overhead audio applications in classrooms, conference rooms, and a variety of other environments. The innovative speaker systems consist of the CS 120P plenum rated enclosure and a CS 3T or CS 26T
Plus speaker cartridge. The CS 120P enclosure installs quickly into 2' x 2' or metric 600 mm x 600 mm suspended ceiling grids. The CS 123T is ideal in paging applications and low ceiling installations
where high intelligibility and maximum coverage is desired. The CS 1226T Plus delivers high performance and full-range audio reproduction for music, program, and voice.
The CS 123T and CS 1226T Plus are available as complete assemblies. Alternatively, the CS 120P enclosure
and CS 3T or CS 26T Plus speaker cartridge may be purchased separately to accommodate division-of-labor
installations. The unique, patented two-piece design of the SpeedMount ceiling speaker system greatly simplifies installation
of ceiling speakers and saves costs, especially when a large quantity is needed for a facility. Rather than waiting until
the final phase of installation, when ceiling access is limited, a low-voltage contractor can begin during rough-in by
placing a CS 120P enclosure onto the ceiling grid with a pre-cut ceiling tile, and running speaker cable through
it. This leaves the AV installer with a simple procedure of connecting the speaker cartridge to the wiring and securing
it into the enclosure.
CS 123T
The CS 3T full-range speaker cartridge installs quickly and easily into the CS 120P plenum rated enclosure to create
the CS 123T speaker system. The CS 120P enclosure features a shallow 5" (12.7 cm) profile for simplified
installation into congested ceiling spaces with piping, ducts, and conduits. The CS 3T includes a 3" (7.6 cm) full-range
driver that delivers an extremely wide conical dispersion of 165° for vocal clarity and broad coverage. It provides a
power rating of 16 watts continuous pink noise and 32 watts continuous program capacity.
The CS 3T can operate in 8 ohm direct and 70/100 volt modes, with a behind-the-grille, six-position power selector
switch. For room balancing with 70/100 volt systems, the power selector switch allows for 16, 8, 4, 2, and 1 watt
settings in 70 volt operation, or 16, 8, 4, and 2 watt settings in 100 volt operation. Similar to other
SpeedMount speakers, the CS 3T includes an internal overload protection circuit.
Spring-loaded locking arms on the CS 3T facilitate quick and effortless installation into the enclosure. The speaker
cartridge also features a thin-edged bezel for a refined appearance, plus a grille that attaches magnetically to the
baffle and quickly snaps into place. The white grille and bezel can be painted to match the environment.
The fast-installing CS 120P enclosure includes an integrated tile bridge that rests on the ceiling tile above the grid,
helping to evenly distribute the weight of the enclosure and CS 3T speaker cartridge. This avoids the need to assemble
V-rails and C-rings, greatly reducing the number of installation steps and the chance of losing installation hardware.
The enclosure is also reinforced to minimize acoustical vibrations.
CS 1226T Plus
The CS 26T Plus two-way speaker cartridge installs into the CS 120P enclosure to create the CS 1226T
speaker system. The CS 26T Plus includes a 6.5" (16.5 cm) long-throw woofer and a 3/4" (1.9 cm) ferrofluid-cooled
dome tweeter in a coaxial design, with an innovative tweeter bridge that delivers smooth off-axis response. It offers
wide 112° conical coverage and provides a frequency range of 42 Hz to 20 kHz for high performance, full-range
audio reproduction. Music reproduction is enhanced with the exceptional low-frequency response of the woofer. The CS 26T
Plus provides a power rating of 60 watts continuous pink noise and 120 watts continuous program capacity.
The CS 26T Plus can operate in 8 ohm direct and 70/100 volt modes, with the behind-the-grille, six-position
selector switch. For room balancing with high impedance 70/100 volt systems, the selector switch allows for 32,
16, 8, 4, and 2 watt settings in 70 volt operation, or 32, 16, 8, and 4 watt settings in 100 volt
operation. The CS 26T Plus also includes an internal driver overload protection circuit.
The installation-friendly features found in the CS 3T, including spring-loaded locking arms, a thin-edged bezels, plus
a grille that attaches magnetically to the baffle, are also included on the CS 26T Plus. The white grille and bezel
can be painted to match the environment.
