Extron Introduces New Quad Standard Video Decoder – the QSD 204
Anaheim, California (April 8, 2002) – Extron Electronics is pleased to introduce the Extron QSD 204, a high-quality, international video decoder with a four-line adaptive comb filter that virtually eliminates chroma noise and enables a projector or monitor to display a higher quality image than that of composite or S-video. The QSD 204 accepts composite video (NTSC 3.58, NTSC 4.43, SECAM, and PAL), S-video, or component video on three inputs and decodes the signals into component (Y, R-Y, or B-Y) or RGB (RGsB, RGBS, or RGBHV) for output. The fourth input accepts RGBS and RGBcvS from the SCART connector found on many European DVD players. The QSD 204D model is configurable for an SDI input. Inputs, menu, and picture controls are selectable via the front panel, IR, or RS-232 commands. Input selection is also available through auto-switch or contact closure. Picture settings are automatically saved for each of the four inputs including those for color, tint, contrast, brightness, centering, and top and bottom blanking. The QSD 204 is housed in a 1U, half rack width metal enclosure and is rack mountable with an optional rack shelf.
