Anaheim, California (June 9, 2004) - Extron Electronics introduces the Extron MPX 423 A, a multi-format media presentation matrix switcher that combines three independent 4x2 matrix switchers for VGA, composite video, and S-video in a single enclosure. It also functions as a 12x2 matrix switcher for stereo audio. Compact and cost-effective, the MPX 423 A can expand the input capabilities of a typical LCD or DLP projector, while providing a second set of outputs for a local preview monitor, or a second presentation display. This integrator-friendly matrix switcher is ideal for a variety of small-scale applications including classrooms, training and conference facilities, and sophisticated home theaters. "The MPX 423 A is a unique one-box solution that simplifies installation and operations by centralizing cable runs and equipment mounting location for many small multi-format presentation systems," says Lee Dodson, vice president of marketing for Extron. Other features on the MPX 423 A include speed-sensitive volume control, which enables the user to easily fine-tune the switcher's audio volume; Digital Sync Validation Processing (DSVP™) for verification of active input sources; and RGB mute, which mutes the image by removing the RGB signals while leaving the sync signals active, and allowing the display to be restored completely without any visible glitch or distortion. Control of the MPX 423 A is provided via the front panel, RS-232, or IP Link® technology. IP Link enables the MPX 423 A to be monitored and accessed from any computer connected to a Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), or the Internet.
