Extron Announces the MPA 122 Mini Power Amplifier

Anaheim, California (June 9, 2004) – Extron Electronics is pleased to announce the MPA 122 Mini Two Channel Power Amplifier. The MPA 122 is a compact, economical, stereo power amplifier designed for small integration solutions with moderate sound system requirements. The MPA 122 is an ideal step up from a basic classroom system utilizing built-in video projector speakers. Using digital amplification technology for high efficiency, the MPA 122 delivers 11 watts (rms) per channel into 4 ohms and 7 watts (rms) into 8 ohms, ideal for driving four 8 ohm ceiling speakers, two in parallel per channel. "As a low cost, compact, and very efficient amplifier, the MPA 122 is a perfect fit for simple audio applications," says Lee Dodson, vice president of marketing for Extron. "We want to make integrating our audio products as easy as integrating our video products." The MPA 122 accepts balanced and unbalanced stereo inputs, and outputs stereo or dual mono, all on captive screw connectors. Front panel controls are provided for bass, treble, and input level. The front panel also features switches for stereo/dual mono operation and a limiter switch which automatically reduces the gain to prevent distortion (amplifier clipping). The MPA 122 includes remote control connections for volume adjustment and muting controls. Part of the VersaTools® line of small, economical, integrator friendly products, the MPA 122 is housed in a 1U, one-eighth rack width metal enclosure.
