Anaheim, California (June 9, 2004) — Extron Electronics is proud to introduce the MGP 462 and MGP 462D Dual Window Multi-Graphic Processors. These powerful, high resolution graphic processors enable the simultaneous display of multiple images for applications demanding critical quality graphics and video presentations, including videoconferencing, conference rooms, boardrooms, command and control centers, distance learning, and event staging systems. The MGP 462 combines high performance RGB and video scaling with flexible and customizable picture-in-picture functionality. With the advanced feature set of the MGP 462, picture-in-picture displays can be tailored to the requirements of any application, by adjusting window positioning, size, zoom, overlay priority, and image freeze, as well as background and window border color selection. Fine tuning controls enable precise adjustments as necessary for the needs of the presentation. The MGP 462 features Extron's unique Graphic Still Store mode, which captures the current output, and then stores the image in memory for use as a background. Additionally, bitmap (BMP) graphics can be uploaded to the MGP 462 via the IP Link® port, and recalled as a background. Images stored on the MGP 462 can be downloaded to a PC through IP Link for archival use. With Graphic Still Store, static images can be integrated with the two dynamic video or graphic windows for use in themed multimedia presentations. Additional customization features include effects for window transitions into and out of the display, and text overlay for labeling windows. Configuration settings for the windows can be saved to and recalled from any of 25 available memory presets. "With the capability to combine high resolution graphics and video on the same display, the MGP 462 and MGP 462D are designed to enhance the impact, versatility, and professionalism of picture-in-picture presentations," says Lee Dodson, vice president of marketing for Extron. "These products are the next generation of Extron multi-window processors that meet the need for increasingly sophisticated AV communications." The MGP 462 and MGP 462D are designed to be integrator friendly, with four fully configurable inputs utilizing BNC connectors. In addition to full front panel controls, both MGP 462 models can be remotely controlled and monitored through RS-232 or IP Link via Ethernet. IP Link enables the MGP 462 and MGP 462D to be managed and supported by a technician or administrator at any time from any computer with a Web browser. Through RS-232 or IP Link, all input settings can be saved into and recalled from up to 128 global memory presets, particularly useful when integrating the MGP 462 and MGP 462D with a matrix switcher. The MGP 462 and MGP 462D list for $6,695.00 and $7,695.00, respectively. For pricing and availability, contact an Extron Customer Support Representative at 800.633.9876.
