Extron Introduces New, Smaller Sizes for MAV Matrix Switchers
Anaheim, California (June 30, 2003) - The Extron MAV Series Matrix Switchers are now available in smaller sizes, including 4x4, 4x8, 8x4, and 8x8. These new MAVs offer a high level of video bandwidth, 150 MHz (-3dB), fully loaded, and route composite video, S-video, and stereo audio on either RCA or captive screw connectors. MAVs provide convenient, off-the-shelf solutions for a wide range of signal routing applications, including boardrooms, video conferencing rooms, classrooms, and more. The 4x8 model is designed for environments that need more outputs than inputs, such as sports bars and museums. Now, with 24 new models, there are more than 50 MAV Series products to meet almost any AV matrix switching requirement. For greater audio flexibility, many of the new MAV models accept both balanced and unbalanced stereo audio signals and can convert unbalanced audio to line level balanced audio, as well as from balanced audio to unbalanced audio. With individual input gain and attenuation, all audio inputs can be adjusted so that there are no noticeable differences in level switching between inputs. Audio breakaway provides the capability to break away an audio signal from its corresponding video signal. Each audio output level can be set to either professional (+4dBu) or consumer (-10dBV) levels via RS-232. These new, smaller MAVs can be controlled via the easy-to-use front panel, RS-232, optional IR 501 control, or with the Extron MCP 1000 Master Control Panel. They are housed in rack-mountable 1U high, full rack width rugged, metal enclosures.
