Extron Introduces New ISS 506 Seamless Switcher

Anaheim, California (June 7, 2006) - Extron Electronics introduces the ISS 506 Six Input Seamless Switcher. The ISS 506 offers truly seamless, glitch-free switching between RGB, HDTV, and standard definition video sources, and also features advanced scaling technologies for high quality, high resolution video presentations using the latest displays. With presentation-enhancing features such as independent Preview output, switching transition effects, the ability to insert logos and titles, and multiple possibilities for control, the ISS 506 is designed to deliver advanced capabilities to high-end applications such as corporate boardrooms, auditoriums, houses of worship, and other live event venues. "The ISS 506 is designed to enhance presentations with advanced capabilities such as displaying logos and titles, or engaging professional-style switching effects," says Lee Dodson, vice president of marketing for Extron. The ISS 506 includes six fully configurable inputs with audio, four of which accept any signal from RGB to composite video. For increased system flexibility, separate "Preview" and "Program" outputs are available, enabling an operator to preview the "next to switch" source before presenting live to the audience. Two Program outputs are available, and an optional third output can be configured for HD-SDI, DVI-D, or scan-converted video. For enhancing presentations, one or two graphic logos, title information, or a picture-in-picture window can be incorporated into any presentation. Logos can be created by capturing any portion of an image or uploading BMP - bitmap image files from a PC. The ISS 506 offers several methods for set-up and configuration including RS-232, IP Link® Ethernet control, or the optional Extron RCP 2000 Remote Control Panel for real-time control of live presentations.
