Roy A. Hermanson, Jr. Named ICIA 2005 Educator of the Year
Anaheim, California (June 9, 2005) – Extron Electronics is pleased to announce that Roy A. Hermanson, Jr. CTS-I, CTS-D, has been named 2005 Educator of the Year by the International Communications Industries Association, Inc.® (ICIA) at its annual AV Communications Excellence Awards Banquet held June 7th in Las Vegas. Roy, who is the Northeast Regional Application Specialist for Extron, was presented the award which, according to the ICIA, "honors individuals who work to develop the skills and knowledge of others in the AV industry."
"Roy's passion for the industry is matched by the depth of his knowledge and his commitment to share that enthusiasm and expertise with others," says Jim Clements, Extron director of education and training. "An accomplished educator, Roy continues to instruct and inspire others in various forums nationwide as an ICIA Faculty member, CEDIA instructor or presenter at the NSCA Expo. Extron joins the ICIA in recognizing Roy for his many contributions to our industry. His back-to-back Educator of the Year Awards from the ICIA in 2005 and the NSCA in 2004 are testament to his many talents." Roy has over 25 years of experience in the AV industry and hands-on knowledge of rental, staging, and systems integration. His expertise includes audio, film, data, and video technologies in both the residential and commercial markets. As a Regional Application Specialist, he works with Extron dealers and integrators in the Northeast US, providing training and support for their sales and technical staff.
