Extron Releases Complete Library of Control Drivers for Hitachi Video Display Products

Anaheim, California (January 6, 2005) – Extron Electronics announces the release of a complete library of serial control drivers for Hitachi video display products that support serial communication. These new drivers are designed for use with Extron MediaLink® controllers and IP Link® Ethernet Control Interfaces. "The results of our collaboration with Extron have made it even easier for our dealers to integrate high quality Hitachi display products into today's most advanced AV applications," says Bill Whalen, senior product manager, Hitachi America, Ltd., Home Electronics Division. "Users can now experience exceptional image quality and state of the art remote monitoring and control capabilities." "Our extensive library of pre-engineered device drivers enable dealers to create sophisticated MediaLink and IP Link systems with minimal time and effort," says Lee Dodson, vice president of marketing for Extron. "The addition of drivers for Hitachi's product line is a natural complement to our library. We are continuously expanding our driver base and are pleased to enable dealers to take advantage of Hitachi's respected line-up of displays." Extron maintains over 2,000 serial and IR drivers for devices from dozens of manufacturers. Each driver was written and reviewed by Extron engineers and most have been tested with one of the supported products. Extron's corporate Web site features an easy-to-use online driver filter that enables installers and system integrators to select and download the appropriate driver files for their AV system. The new Hitachi display drivers, along with all of Extron's device drivers and configuration and control software applications, are available for download from the Extron Web site.
