Anaheim, California (June 10, 2010) - Extron Electronics is pleased to announce the immediate availability of HDCP-compliant DVI and HDMI matrix boards for the SMX System MultiMatrix, Extron's modular, field-configurable matrix switching platform. Available in I/O sizes from 4x4 to 8x8, the new SMX DVI Pro and SMX HDMI matrix boards are HDMI 1.3 compatible and have been designed with a number of key, intelligent technologies for AV integration, including HDCP Status Reporting and Compliance Checking, which actively reads and reports HDCP status for all connected sources and displays; and EDID Minder®, which automatically manages EDID communication between the display and input source. Extron SMX DVI Pro and HDMI matrix boards also feature Input Equalization to compensate for weak source signals or signal loss due to long or poor quality cables, and Output Reclocking which restores signal amplitude, timing, and clock rate, resulting in a signal that’s equal to or better than the original. The SMX System MultiMatrix is an ideal choice for conference and training facilities, medical imaging systems, and other mid-sized applications that require the switching of different signal types and a cost-effective upgrade path for ongoing I/O or signal format changes.
"Extron has long been recognized for engineering products that work, out of the box, to enhance AV system integration, "says Casey Hall, Extron Vice President of Sales and Marketing for North America. "With the release of these new, HDCP-compliant DVI and HDMI matrix boards for the SMX System MultiMatrix, Extron has addressed the key challenges faced by integrators as they help their customers make the transition to digital AV."
