The DTP3 CrossPoint Series features DTP3 extension for uncompressed video, audio, and control up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a single CAT 6A cable. They are also backward compatible with first-generation DTP-enabled products. DTP endpoints are available in a wide variety of form factors and video formats to meet professional installation requirements. DTP3 incorporates advanced features such as 4K/60 @ 4:4:4, HDCP 2.3, and HDR video to let you create the sophisticated, yet simple to use systems that customers demand.
DTP3 Endpoint Features
Transmits video, bidirectional control, and audio up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a shielded CAT 6A cable
DTP3 transmitters and receivers provide high reliability and maximum performance on an economical and easily installed cable infrastructure.
Supports computer and video resolutions up to 4K/60 @ 4:4:4
DTP3 endpoints support HDMI 2.0b specification features including data rates up to 18 Gbps and HDR video. Support of 4K/60 at 4:4:4 color sampling requires connection to a matching DTP3 product.
HDCP 2.3 compliant
Ensures display of content-protected 4K video media and interoperability with other HDCP‑compliant devices.
USB Support
Select DTP3 products are available to support USB data, USB-C alt mode DisplayPort video, and power delivery.
Every DTP3 CrossPoint model features reversible DTP3 ports that function as inputs or outputs, allowing a range of matrix configurations. Flexible signal routing and reliable digital video switching supports multiple applications in one installation, and provides unique flexibility to reconfigure system capabilities as requirements evolve over time. A single model such as the DTP3 CrossPoint 884 supports 14 additional input/output configurations beyond the dedicated 8x8, as shown in the chart below.
Dante Networking
The DTP3 CrossPoint Series provides Dante audio networking to enable audio transport over a local area network, opening access to a wide variety of compatible audio products. The 32x32 Dante interface is connected via primary and redundant Gigabit Ethernet ports, with PoE provided on the primary port.
Dante allows uncompressed high resolution digital audio to be distributed across a switched Ethernet network using standard TCP/IP protocols, while meeting the stringent quality requirements of professional audio.
Configurable Amplifier
DTP3 CrossPoint IPCP A models are equipped with an audio amplifier with selectable output power modes:
Stereo 100W in 4Ω or 8Ω
Mono 200W into 8Ω
Mono 200W into 70V or 100V
It features Extron's exclusive Class D amplifier design with patented CDRS™- Class D Ripple Suppression technology to provide a smooth, clean audio waveform and an improvement in signal fidelity over conventional Class D amplifier designs
Conventional Design
Conventional Class D amplifiers are characterized by high frequency switching ripple on the audio output. The result is a distorted signal and EMI emissions on output cabling.
Extron CDRS Design
CDRS removes the switching ripple from the audio output waveform, so that the signal is pure and on par with linear amplifier performance. The result is a Class D amplifier design with dramatically improved audio performance.
Available for the DTP3 CrossPoint 662, DTP3 CrossPoint 642, and DTP3 CrossPoint 622, the integrated ShareLink Pro Wireless Presentation System enables anyone to present content from computers, tablets, or smartphones on a display for easy collaboration. It features advanced technology that supports simultaneous display of up to four devices, including any matrix switcher input. The ShareLink Pro has collaboration and moderator modes that facilitate both open and controlled collaboration environments, as well as dual Ethernet ports for more secure environments. ConferenceShare™ enables wireless sharing of video and audio from in-room USB devices with a Windows or macOS laptop running Teams, Zoom, or other UC meetings.
LinkLicenses are available to enable Active Learning and Digital Signage. The LinkLicense for Digital Signage enables the ShareLink Pro to work with third-party digital signage providers like Appspace, Carousel, Seenspire, and others to display their HTML-based digital signage content when users aren’t connected or sharing content. In spaces where wireless sharing on multiple displays is needed, the optional LinkLicense for Active Learning enables multiple ShareLink Pro Wireless Presentation Systems to display content between units. This is ideal in active learning rooms with multiple small groups working together and a central instructor station.
The Vector 4K scaling engine incorporates Extron-engineered, multi-tap, bicubic interpolation, which creates a new pixel by averaging adjacent pixels above, below, to the sides, and diagonally of the new pixel. This produces sharp, accurate output, preserving single-pixel detail that other scaling methods lack.
Vector 4K algorithms continually and dynamically adapt, ensuring optimal processing for upscaling, downscaling, or 1:1 pass-through applications. Two less robust alternatives to bicubic interpolation are “nearest neighbor interpolation,” whereby a pixel is duplicated to an adjacent pixel, and “bilinear interpolation,” which creates a new pixel by averaging adjacent pixels above, below, and to the sides of the pixel being created. Both of these methods can produce substandard output, resulting in data loss that may render the content unusable.
For fast, glitch-free video switching performance in demanding applications, four seamless transition effects are available.
Cut through Black — instantly cuts the current input to black, then cuts to the new input
Fade through Black — fades the current input to black, then fades to the new input
Seamless Cut — freezes the current video frame, then instantly cuts to the new input
Seamless Fade — freezes the current input video frame, then fades to the newly selected input

Audio Processing
The DTP3 CrossPoint Series features Extron ProDSP audio signal processing with Acoustic Echo Cancellation. The 64-bit floating point architecture ensures a very wide dynamic range. Audio signal transparency is maintained by studio grade 24-bit audio converters with 48 kHz sampling.
DSP Configurator Pro
Setup and optimization is easy with the intuitive DSP Configurator Pro Software. The flexible on‑screen layout offers fast access to all digital audio signal processing tools, as well as AEC and noise cancellation settings. This includes level control, dynamics, filters, delay, ducking, loudness, feedback suppression, and matrix mixing, as well as real-time metering for ERL - echo return loss, ERLE - echo return loss enhancement, and TER - total echo reduction levels.
DTP3 CrossPoint IPCP A models feature a built-in Extron IP Link® Pro control processor with a secure, dedicated three-port AV LAN switch and one standard Ethernet port. PoE+ is provided on two of the AV LAN ports, offering convenient power for Extron TouchLink Pro control panels.
The network switch ports of the AV LAN are designed to control local AV devices, and safeguard them from outside intrusion or interference.
The DTP3 CrossPoint IPCP A models deliver high-speed processing and abundant control port capacity for complete, customizable control of an entire AV system, including all source devices and displays, plus lighting, window shades, projection screens, occupancy sensing, and more.
As with all Extron control systems, the DTP3 CrossPoint IPCP A models are very intuitive and easy to configure with Global Configurator® software. The latest version of Global Configurator includes powerful, advanced features such as conditional logic, local variables, and macros.
