Extron Continues To Refocus Distribution Channel
Distribution Model Continues to Move Away From Primarily Transactional ''Box Goods'' Resellers
Anaheim, California (March 8, 2006) - Previously on Tuesday, June 8th, 2004, Extron announced that it will discontinue selling products through primarily Transactional "Box Goods" Resellers. This refocus continues to this day to concentrate the distribution channel in the United States and Canada around integration oriented dealers.
''For the last twenty years, Extron has taken great pride in our mission of providing the best Service, Support, and Solutions available to the dealers, consultants, and end users in the professional audio / video industry," states Andrew C. Edwards, President and CEO of Extron. "From the products we manufacture, the technical training we deliver, and the after-sale support we provide, to the dealers we select to distribute our products, we have strived to develop relationships with systems integrators that share our vision of customer support and added value.'' Edwards continues, ''Extron products have always required extensive expertise in system design, installation, configuration, and alignment with service and support before and after the sale. As we look into the future, it has become clear to us that our products will continue their rapid advancement in technology and complexity. In order to maintain and enhance our mission of Service, Support, and Solutions, we are continuing to refocus our distribution program to more align ourselves with integrator resellers capable of providing the level of support required for Extron products. In the past year, we have evaluated all Extron Commercial dealers in the United States and Canada. As a result of this ongoing evaluation, we have selected to continue as an Extron commercial dealer those companies that provide, in the opinion of Extron management, the level of technical services, local warehousing, system design, installation, and the technical staff appropriate for the size of their organization. These capabilities are needed to complement and support the before and after sale of Extron integration products to the end user.'' Extron does not sell to primarily Transactional "Box Goods" Resellers in the United States and Canada. Edwards further states that, "Extron will be evaluating the Service, Support, and Solutions capability of our integration dealers over the next year. Integration dealers showing the commitment to our products and capability of supporting all Extron products will continue to be offered the full line. Dealers showing less of a commitment or limited support capability will be offered a smaller selection of Extron products." Visit the press area of our Web site at
