Anaheim, California (June 12, 2013) - Extron Electronics is proud to announce that it has won two Commercial Integrator BEST Awards. The Extron SpeedMount Ceiling Speaker System won the Commercial Integrator BEST Award in the category of Installed Loudspeakers & Subwoofers, and the DMP 128 Series won in the Audio Components & Processors category. The Commercial Integrator BEST Awards program recognizes superlative solutions for an integration business based on innovation, functionality, competitive advantages, and benefits to the installer.

"We are extremely pleased to have been recognized by Commercial Integrator with these awards that validate our continuing efforts to deliver technologies and features that streamline audio system integration," says Casey Hall, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Extron. "The SpeedMount Ceiling Speaker System is an innovative two-piece design that simplifies and speeds up ceiling speaker installation, while the DMP 128 Series provides a configuration approach to DSP that makes it easy and straightforward to design and set up an audio system."

The Extron SpeedMount Ceiling Speaker System is a patented low profile, plenum rated two-piece ceiling tile speaker system for division-of-labor installations. The CS 1226T SpeedMount speaker system features the newest speaker innovation from Extron, a unique speaker design that greatly simplifies ceiling speaker installation and delivers signficant time and cost savings. The two-piece system consists of the CS 120P plenum rated enclosure and a CS 26T two-way speaker cartridge. A low-voltage contractor places the CS 120P enclosure directly on the ceiling grid without the need for a tile bridge, C-ring, or tile rails. Signal wiring is then routed to the enclosure. This dramatically cuts installation time and costs during the rough-in phase. Later, an AV technician can quickly complete installation by connecting the CS 26T speaker cartridge to the wiring and securing it into the enclosure. The CS 1226T is the latest in Extron's expanding lineup of speaker system solutions that divide the installation labor between contractors, reduce parts counts, and streamline sound system integration.

The Extron DMP 128 Digital Matrix Processors are 12x8 audio mixers featuring Extron ProDSP™, auto-mixing, and I/O expansion capabilities. The DMP 128 Series includes models with AEC - acoustic echo cancellation, Dante™ audio networking from Audinate, and POTS analog telephone connectivity. DMP 128 AT models with Dante feature a 56 input by 24 output expansion matrix, providing efficient scalability for creating larger audio matrices over a local area network using standard Internet Protocols. A built-in four-port Gigabit switch provides direct interconnection of multiple DMP 128 AT units. The DMP 128 Series offers a configuration approach to DSP that simplifies mixing, routing, conferencing, and room optimization. Quick and intuitive configuration using DSP Configurator™ Software allows the DMP 128 to be installed in very little time, with easy-to-learn adjustments that can be heard in real-time.
