Extron Acquires New Patents
Anaheim, California (November 18, 2002) – Extron recently received two patents—one for the Hideaway Surface Access HSA 402 and one for Accu-Frame Lock (AFL™). The Extron HSA 402 is a tilt-up, architectural solution for inconspicuous computer-video interface connector access and control. It offers two grounded AC outlets, two RJ-45 (CAT 6) network/data/phone connectors, and room for two double space Extron Architectural Adapter Plates (AAPs). AFL is a method of eliminating image tearing which is associated with scaling, especially when motion video is involved. It occurs when the input frame rate is slower or faster than the output frame rate, and part of the old frame and part of the new frame are displayed at the same time during a refresh cycle. This feature can be found on such Extron products as the DVS 406 Digital Video Scaler, USP 405 Universal Signal Processor, SGS 408 Seamless Graphics Switcher, and ISM Integration Scaling Matrix Switchers with Audio. Extron Electronics, headquartered in Anaheim, Calif., is a leading manufacturer of professional AV system products including computer-video interfaces, switchers, matrix switchers, distribution amplifiers, scalers, scan converters, signal processing devices, and high-resolution cables. Extron products are used to integrate video and audio into presentation systems for today's high-tech boardrooms, presentation/training centers, university lecture halls, and other applications. ###
